Who We Are
We are an all volunteer, non-profit organization comprised of Norwood residents, town employees, and Norwood Center small business owners. What we have in common: we share a vision of success and prosperity for the Center, that will ultimately benefit the greater Norwood community and its visitors.
What We Do
We connect businesses, residents, visitors and town offices to deliver a downtown experience that works for everyone. Our accomplishments:
- facilitating pandemic relief funds
- matching available grant monies with small businesses
- advocating for Norwood businesses at monthly economic development meetings
- hosting social media platforms-sharing, reposting, liking on FB, Insta and Twitter
- Organizing the annual Shop Small Saturday in Norwood Center
- Restaurant Week
- Building a new and improved website with a complete business directory
Why We Do It
We're stronger together. While we business owners identify as self-sufficient, independent entities, it really takes a functioning web of supportive systems to keep us thriving. The pandemic surely demonstrated that. Having a downtown organization like FNC behind you, will help to make your small business successful. We look forward to working with you in the future.
What Our Businesses Say
The Town of Norwood has formed a strong working relationship with the Friends of Norwood Center collaborating to support and promote small businesses in Norwood Center. The town is appreciative of the efforts of the Friends of Norwood Center to help us create a welcoming and vibrant community for residents, visitors, and local businesses.
Joe Collins, Economic Development Director/ Key Accounts Manager
Friends of Norwood Center is more like a really good friend, an invaluable gem. From rallying chefs and foodies together for Restaurant Week, to being your social media cheerleader, to bringing awareness and a warm welcome to businesses who are the new kids on the block. FNC is not only re-energizing the outdoor experience but also cultivating a vibrant social space for customers and businesses to connect.

Beautiful location and classic New England parks, complete with a gazebo and twinkle lights strung from cafes and trees.
Nice little shops. Small town USA feel.
Highly recommend being a part of this group who are trying to elevate our community and help those businesses in the downtown area and beyond.
