Friends of Norwood Center is a dynamic group of people interested in making the most of Downtown Norwood. The group is made up of residents, business owners, town employees, and advocates of the "shop local" movement. You don't even have to live in Norwood to be involved. You simply have to share our goal: making Norwood Center a thriving, vibrant, exciting downtown for everyone!

Come to Downtown Norwood!

The Department of Town Planning and Economic Development has been working on a proposed Multi Use Overlay District for the Downtown Business District of Norwood Center. This zoning bylaw change would allow for the potential redevelopment and creation of buildings with multiple uses. This concept harkens back to a time when business owners had their shop on the first floor while lived in a residence upstairs. 

Have you noticed the vacancies in Downtown Norwood? Making this change can help because building owners can invest in their properties in new ways. Retail has changed and the long, narrow storefronts are obsolete. Adopting this bylaw opens the potential for a thriving downtown. Bring people to downtown, businesses will follow!
